Context of Deuteronomy 2:14
12The Horites used to live in Seir, but the descendants of Esau claimed their land, wiped them out, and took their place, as Israel did in the land that the Lord gave them. 13Then the Lord said, “Now cross the Zered River.” So we crossed the Zered River. Commentaries on Deuteronomy 2:14
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 8-23Verses 8-23 We have the origin of the Moabites, Edomites, and Ammonites. Moses also gives an instance older than any of these; the Caphtorims drove the Avims out of their country. These revolutions show what uncertain things wordly possessions are.
