Context of Psalms 62:10
8Trust him at all times, you people. Pour out your hearts in his presence. God is our refuge. Selah 9Common people are only a whisper in the wind. Important people are only a delusion. When all of them are weighed on a scale, they amount to nothing. They are less than a whisper in the wind. Do not count on extortion ⌞to make you rich⌟. Do not hope to gain anything through robbery. When riches increase, do not depend on them. 11God has spoken once. I have heard it ⌞said⌟ twice: “Power belongs to God. 12Mercy belongs to you, O Lord. You reward a person based on what he has done.”

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 10Trust not in oppression - Do not suppose that my unnatural son and his partisans can succeed. Become not vain in robbery - If ye have laid your hands on the spoils of my house, do not imagine that these ill-gotten riches will prosper. God will soon scatter them to all the winds of heaven. All oppressors come to an untimely end; and all property acquired by injustice has God's curse on it.Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 10Trust not in oppression - The general meaning here is, that we are not to trust in anything but God. We must so trust in him at all times, as not at any time to put that trust in ourselves, or in any creature, which is to be put in him only.
