Context of Hebrews 10:24
22We have been sprinkled ⌞with his blood⌟ to free us from a guilty conscience, and our bodies have been washed with clean water. So we must continue to come ⌞to him⌟ with a sincere heart and strong faith. 23We must continue to hold firmly to our declaration of faith. The one who made the promise is faithful. We must also consider how to encourage each other to show love and to do good things. 25We should not stop gathering together with other believers, as some of you are doing. Instead, we must continue to encourage each other even more as we see the day of the Lord coming. 26If we go on sinning after we have learned the truth, no sacrifice can take away our sins.

The words , to the provocation, are often taken in a good sense, and signify excitement, stirring up, to do any thing laudable, useful, honorable, or necessary. - Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 24And let us consider one another - Let us so regard the welfare of others as to endeavor to excite them to persevere in the Christian life. The idea is, that much might be done, in securing perseverance and fidelity, by mutual kind exhortation. They were not to be selfish; they were not to regard their own interests only (notes, Philemon 2:4); they were to have a kind sympathy in the concerns of each other. They had, as Christians have now, the same duties…Read the comment

As believers had an open way to the presence of God, it became them to use this privilege. The agreement of infinite holiness with pardoning mercy, was not clearly understood till the…Read the comment
