Context of Psalms 130:3
1Lord, I am crying aloud to you because I have great trouble. 2My Lord, please listen to me! I am asking you to be kind and help me. Lord, if you should write down all our sins, nobody could stand as a righteous person. 4But you forgive people for their sins, and so we give you honour. 5I will wait for the Lord to help me. I trust him completely. So I wait for him to do what he has promised.

- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 33. shouldest mark--or, "take strict account" (Job 10:14; 14:16), implying a confession of the existence of sin. who shall stand--(Psa 1:6). Standing is opposed to the guilty sinking down in fear and self-condemnation (Mal 3:2; Re 6:15, 16). The question implies a negative, which is thus more strongly stated.Read the comment
