Context of Proverbs 25:7
5In the same way, you should keep wicked people away from the king. Then he will rule in a right way. 6When you stand in front of the king, do not be proud. Do not stand where the important people stand. Then it will be good if the king says to you, ‘Come and sit up here, near me.’ That would be better than if he sends you away while his officers watch. 8If you see something bad happen, do not quickly go and tell a judge. Your neighbour may show that you are wrong. Then you will be ashamed. You will not know what to do. 9If you argue with your neighbour, do not tell his secrets to other people.

Be humble; affect not high things; let those who are desperate climb dangerous precipices; keep thyself quiet, and thou shalt live at ease, and in peace. Hear the speech of a wise heathen on this subject: - Quid fuit, ut tutas agitaret Daedalus alas; Icarus immensas nomine signet aquas? Nempe quod hic alte, dimissus ille volabat.
