Context of Matthew 15:35
33The disciples said to Jesus, ‘This place is a long way from any houses. We cannot get enough bread here to feed so many people.’ 34Jesus asked them, ‘How many loaves of bread do you have?’ They replied, ‘We have seven loaves and a few small fish.’ Jesus told the crowd that they should sit down on the ground. 36Then he took the seven loaves and the fish in his hands and he thanked God for them. Then he broke the bread and the fish into pieces and he gave the food to his disciples. The disciples gave the food to the people. 37All the people ate and they all had enough food. After the people had eaten, there were still lots of small pieces of food. Jesus' disciples filled seven baskets with these pieces.

Matthew 15:32 Three days, and have nothing to eat - This is not, perhaps, to be taken literally, but only that during that time they had been deprived of…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 29-39Verses 29-39 Whatever our case is, the only way to find ease and relief, is to lay it at Christ's feet, to submit it to him, and refer it to his disposal. Those who would have spiritual healing from Christ, must be ruled as he pleases. See what work sin has made; what various diseases human bodies are subject to. Here were such diseases as fancy could neither guess the cause nor the cure of, yet these were subject to the command of Christ. The spiritual…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 32-39The earlier feeding miracle (see Matthew 14:13–21) was for the Jews. This miracle extended the blessing to the gentiles. It continues the theme found in Matthew 15:27. By this miracle, Jesus showed that he is the true "bread of life" (see 16:5–12; John 6).Read the comment
