Context of Ecclesiastes 10:19
17But if a country's ruler belongs to a good family, that country will be a happy place. Its leaders only enjoy parties at the proper time. They control themselves and they do not become drunk. 18If a man is too lazy to work on his house, its roof will fall down. Rain will make his rooms wet. Good food and wine help us to laugh and to be happy. But you need to have money to buy everything. 20Do not say bad things about the king. Do not even think about it! Even when you are in your bedroom, do not say bad things about rich people. A little bird might hear you. It might tell people what you have said.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 19A feast is made for laughter - The object of it is to produce merriment, to banish care and concern of every kind. But who are they who make and frequent such places? Epicures and drunkards generally; such as those of whom Horace speaks: Nos numerus sumus, et fruges consumere nati. Epist. lib. i., ep. 2, ver. 27. "Those whose names stand as indications of men, the useless many; and who appear to be born only to consume the produce of the soil." But money…Read the comment

But the soul, as it is not redeemed, so it is not maintained with…Read the comment
