Context of 1 Chronicles 16:31
29Agree that the Lord's name is great. Bring a gift to offer to him in his temple. Worship the Lord, who is beautiful and holy. 30Everyone on earth must shake with fear in front of him. He has fixed the world in its place, so that nothing can shake it. The earth and the sky should be happy! The people of all nations should say, ‘The Lord rules as king!’ 32The sea and everything in it should shout aloud! The fields and all their crops should shout with joy! 33Then all the trees in the forests will also sing, because they are so happy. They will be happy because the Lord is coming to judge the earth.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 4-42Verses 4-42 This passage is interposed by the writer of Chronicles between two sentences of the parallel passage in Samuel. It contains a detailed account of the service which David instituted at this time, a service out of which grew the more elaborate service of the temple. The language of much of the passage is remarkably archaic, and there can be no reasonable doubt that it is in the main an extract from a record of the time of David. 1 Chronicles…Read the comment
