Context of Psalms 14:3
1The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They have corrupted themselves, they have done abominable works: there is none that doeth good. 2Jehovah looked down from the heavens upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. They have all gone aside, they are together become corrupt: there is none that doeth good, not even one. 4Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, eating up my people [as] they eat bread? They call not upon Jehovah. 5There were they in great fear; for God is in the generation of the righteous.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 3They are all gone aside - This verse states the result of the divine investigation referred to in the previous verse. The result, as seen by God himself, was, that “all” were seen to have gone aside, and to have become filthy. The word rendered “gone aside” means properly to go off, to turn aside or away, to depart; as, for example, to turn out of the right way or path, Exodus 32:8. Then it means to turn away from God; to fall away from his worship; to…Read the comment
