Context of Job 22:3
1And Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said, 2Can a man be profitable to God? surely it is unto himself that the wise man is profitable. Is it any pleasure to the Almighty if thou art righteous? And is it gain [to him] that thou makest thy ways perfect? 4Will he reason with thee for fear of thee? Will he enter with thee into judgment? 5Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities without end?

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 3Is it any pleasure to the Almighty that thou art righteous? - This is the same sentiment which was advanced in the previous verse. The meaning is, that it can be no advantage to God that a man is righteous. He is not dependent on man for happiness, and cannot be deterred from dealing justly with him because he is in danger of losing anything. In this sense, it is true. God “has” pleasure in holiness wherever it is, and is pleased when people are…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 2-3Eliphaz did not understand that God would delight in Job’s right relationship with him, just as God does with every righteous person (1:8; 2:3; 1 Chronicles 29:17; Psalms 147:10–11; Proverbs 11:1, 20; 12:22). God would also benefit from Job’s steady faith, which exposed the lie in Satan’s challenge (Job 1:9–12; 2:4–6). Job firmly claimed that he was blameless (23:10–12). God said the same thing (1:1, 8; 2:3).Read the comment
