Context of Acts 18:7
5And when both Silas and Timotheus came down from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in respect of the word, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ. 6But as they opposed and spoke injuriously, he shook his clothes, and said to them, Your blood be upon your own head: I [am] pure; from henceforth I will go to the nations. And departing thence he came to the house of a certain [man], by name Justus, who worshipped God, whose house adjoined the synagogue. 8But Crispus the ruler of the synagogue believed in the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing, believed, and were baptised. 9And the Lord said by vision in [the] night to Paul, Fear not, but speak and be not silent;

Let us not despair concerning any place, when even in wicked Corinth Christ had much people. He will gather in his chosen flock from the places where they are scattered Thus encouraged, the apostle continued at Corinth, and a numerous and flourishing church grew up.Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 7Titius Justus (“Titus the Just”) was a Gentile who worshiped God. People like him are often called “God-fearers” (non-Jews who worship the God of Israel; see study note on 10:2). The name Titus was a common Roman name, so the second name or title Justus helps to tell him apart from the better-known Titus, who worked with Paul ("Titus" in 2 Corinthians 2:13; 7:6, 13; 8:6, 16, 23).Read the comment

Justus, too, being…Read the comment
