Context of Isaiah 25:9
7On this mountain he will swallow up the burial shroud, the shroud over all the peoples, the sheet covering all the nations. 8When he has swallowed up death once and for all, the Lord God will wipe away the tears from every face and remove his people’s disgrace from the whole earth, for the Lord has spoken. On that day it will be said, “Look, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he has saved us. This is the Lord; we have waited for him. Let’s rejoice and be glad in his salvation.” 10For the Lord’s power will rest on this mountain. But Moab will be trampled in his place as straw is trampled in a dung pile. 11He will spread out his arms in the middle of it, as a swimmer spreads out his arms to swim. His pride will be brought low, along with the trickery of his hands.

They shall say, i.e., the Jews and the Gentiles - Lo, this [Jesus Christ] is our God: we have waited for him, according to the predictions of the prophets. - Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 9And it shall be said in that day - By the people of God. This shall be the language of exultation and joy which they shall use. Lo, this is our God - This is the language of those who now see and hail their Deliverer. It implies that such deliverance, and such mercy could be bestowed only by God, and that the fact that such mercies had been bestowed was proof that he was their God. We have waited for him - Amidst many trials, persecutions, and calamities…Read the comment
