Context of Psalms 50:3
1The Mighty One, God the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from where the sun rises to where it sets. 2From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth. Our God approaches and will not be silent! Consuming fire precedes Him, and a tempest rages around Him. 4He summons the heavens above, and the earth, that He may judge His people: 5“Gather to Me My saints, who made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 3Our God shall come - That is, he will come to judgment. This language is derived from the supposition that God “will” judge the world, and it shows that this doctrine was understood and believed by the Hebrews. The New Testament has stated the fact that this will be done by the coming of his Son Jesus Christ to gather the nations before him, and to pronounce tile final sentence on mankind: Matthew 25:31; Acts 17:31; Acts 10:42; John 5:22.
