Context of Psalms 45:15
13Glorious is the King’s daughter within [the palace]; Her robe is interwoven with gold. 14She will be brought to the King in embroidered garments; The virgins, her companions who follow her, Will be brought to You. With gladness and rejoicing will they be led; They will enter into the King’s palace. 16In place of your fathers will be your sons; You shall make princes in all the land. 17I will make Your name to be remembered in all generations; Therefore the peoples will praise and give You thanks forever and ever.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 15With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought - They shall come forth, attending the bride, with music and songs; the procession will be one of hilarity and joy. They shall enter into the king‘s palace - That is, Moving from the palace of the royal father of the bride, or from her home, they will enter the palace of her husband, her future home. If this is designed to refer to the church, it is a beautiful description of what will occur when the…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 10-17Verses 10-17 If we desire to share these blessings, we must hearken to Christ's word. We must forget our carnal and sinful attachments and pursuits. He must be our Lord as well as our Saviour; all idols must be thrown away, that we may give him our whole heart. And here is good encouragement, thus to break off from former alliances. The beauty of holiness, both on the church and on particular believers, is, in the sight of Christ, of great price, and very…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 1-17This psalm celebrates a royal wedding; it might have been sung on many occasions and not just at one wedding. As God’s representative, the king carried the responsibility of dispensing justice and maintaining order in God’s world (see Psalm 2).Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 14-1514-15. The progress of the procession is described; according to the usual custom the bride and attendants are conducted to the palace. Some for the words-- in raiment of needlework--propose another rendering, "on variegated (or embroidered) cloths"--that is, in the manner of the East, richly wrought tapestry was spread on the ground, on which the bride walked. As the dress had been already mentioned, this seems to be a probable translation.Read the comment
