Context of Ezekiel 25:10
8‘Thus says the Lord God, “Because Moab and Seir (Edom) say, ‘Behold, the house of Judah is like all the [pagan] nations,’ 9therefore, behold, I will deprive the flank of Moab of its cities which are on its frontiers, the glory of the land, Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon and Kiriathaim. I will give it, along with the children of Ammon, to the people of the East as a possession, so that the children of Ammon will not be remembered among the nations [any longer]. 11Thus I will execute judgment and punishment on Moab, and they will know [without any doubt] that I am the Lord.” 12‘Thus says the Lord God, “Because Edom has acted against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended and has incurred grievous guilt by taking revenge on them,”

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 8-17Verses 8-17 Though one event seem to the righteous and wicked, it is vastly different. Those who glory in any other defence and protection than the Divine power, providence, and promise, will, sooner or later, be ashamed of their glorying. Those who will not leave it to God to take vengeance for them, may expect that he will take vengeance on them. The equity of the Lord's judgments is to be observed, when he not only avenges injuries upon those that did…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 8-11The people of Moab believed they could attack Judah without punishment. They treated Judah as if it were just another nation. This was not true. Judah had been acting like the other nations (see Ezekiel 20:32). However, Judah was different because it had a covenant with God. God would not finally reject Judah. He would discipline his people, but he would not abandon them forever. Moab, however, would face judgment. Like Ammon, Moab would be removed from…Read the comment
