Context of Psalms 83:4
2God, do not keep silent. Do not hold Your peace, O God. Do not be still. 3For look, Your enemies make an uproar. Those who hate You lift up their head. They make a shrewd plot against Your people, conspiring against Your treasured ones. 5“Come,” they say, “let’s wipe them out as a nation! Let Israel’s name be remembered no more!” 6For with one mind they plot together. Against You do they make a covenant.

And their scheme was well laid: eight or ten different nations united themselves in a firm bond to do this; and they had kept their purpose so secret that the king of Judah does not appear to have heard of it till his territories were actually invaded, and the different bodies of this coalition had assembled at En-gedi.
