Context of Ezekiel 40:25
23A gate to the inner court was opposite the other gate, northward and eastward. He measured 100 cubits from gate to gate. 24Then he led me toward the south, and behold, there was a gate toward the south. He measured its pillars and its porches. They had the same measurements. The gate and its porch had windows all around, like the other windows, 50 cubits long and 25 cubits wide. 26Its stairway had seven steps, and its porches were in front of them. It had palm-trees on its pillars, one on this side and another on that side. 27There was a gate to the inner court toward the south. He measured from gate to gate toward the south—100 cubits.

- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 20-27The north gateway and the south gateway are described in similar ways to the east gateway. However, the description gives fewer details than it does for the east gateway. Even so, these gates were strong and impressive structures. Like the east gateway, they served as a powerful defensive barrier. They were meant to prevent any defilement (anything unclean or impure) from entering the sacred area. There was no west gateway to either the outer court or the…Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 20-2720-27. The different approaches corresponded in plan. In the case of these two other gates, however, no mention is made of a building with thirty chambers such as was found on the east side. Only one was needed, and it was assigned to the east as being the sacred quarter, and that most conveniently situated for the officiating priests.Read the comment
