Context of Exodus 37:8
6He made an atonement cover of pure gold, two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide. 7Then he forged two cheruvim of gold, from hammered work, at the two ends of the atonement cover, one cheruv at one end, and one cheruv at the other. He made the atonement cover from a single piece with the cheruvim on the two ends. 9So the cheruvim spread out their wings on high, overshadowing the atonement cover with their wings, with their faces to one another, and the faces of the cheruvim toward the atonement cover. 10Then he made the table of acacia wood, two cubits long, a cubit wide, and a cubit and a half high.
