Context of 1 Chronicles 16:27
25For great is Adonai and greatly to be praised. He is to be feared above all gods. 26For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but Adonai made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before Him; strength and joy are in His place. 28Ascribe to Adonai, O families of the peoples, ascribe to Adonai glory and strength. 29Ascribe to Adonai the glory due to His Name. Bring an offering and come before Him. Worship Adonai in the splendor of holiness.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 4-42Verses 4-42 This passage is interposed by the writer of Chronicles between two sentences of the parallel passage in Samuel. It contains a detailed account of the service which David instituted at this time, a service out of which grew the more elaborate service of the temple. The language of much of the passage is remarkably archaic, and there can be no reasonable doubt that it is in the main an extract from a record of the time of David. 1 Chronicles…Read the comment

Let the everlasting covenant be the great matter of our joy his people of old, be remembered by us with thankfulness to him. Show forth from day to day his salvation, his promised salvation by Christ. We have reason to…Read the comment
