Deuteronomy 28:38-48
38Thou shalt carryH3318 muchH7227 seedH2233 into the fieldH7704, and shalt gatherH622 but littleH4592H622; for the locustH697 shall consumeH2628 it. 39Thou shalt plantH5193 vineyardsH3754, and dressH5647 them, but shalt neither drinkH8354 of the wineH3196, nor gatherH103 the grapes ; for the wormsH8438 shall eatH398 them. 40Thou shalt have olive treesH2132 throughout all thy landH1366, but thou shalt not anointH5480 thyself with the oilH8081; for thy oliveH2132 shall castH5394 its fruit . 41Thou shalt begetH3205 sonsH1121 and daughtersH1323, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall goH3212 into captivityH7628.1 42All thy treesH6086 and fruitH6529 of thy landH127 shall the locustH6767 consumeH3423.2 43The strangerH1616 that is withinH7130 thee shall riseH5927 above thee veryH4605 highH4605; and thou shalt come downH3381 veryH4295 lowH4295. 44He shall lendH3867 to thee, and thou shalt not lendH3867 to him: he shall be the headH7218, and thou shalt be the tailH2180.
45Moreover all these cursesH7045 shall comeH935 upon thee, and shall pursueH7291 thee, and overtakeH5381 thee, till thou art destroyedH8045; because thou didst hearkenH8085 not to the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH430, to keepH8104 his commandmentsH4687 and his statutesH2708 which he commandedH6680 thee: 46And they shall be upon thee for a signH226 and for a wonderH4159, and upon thy seedH2233 forH5704 everH5769. 47Because thou didst not serveH5647 the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 with joyfulnessH8057, and with gladnessH2898 of heartH3824, for the abundanceH7230 of all things ; 48Therefore shalt thou serveH5647 thy enemiesH341 which the LORDH3068 shall sendH7971 against thee, in hungerH7458, and in thirstH6772, and in nakednessH5903, and in lackH2640 of all things : and he shall putH5414 a yokeH5923 of ironH1270 upon thy neckH6677, until he hath destroyedH8045 thee.
