Jeremiah 29:21-32

21Thus saithH559 YhwhH3068 of ArmiesH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, of AhabH256 the sonH1121 of KolaiahH6964, and of ZedekiahH6667 the sonH1121 of MaaseiahH4641, which prophesyH5012 a lieH8267 unto you in my nameH8034; Behold, I will deliverH5414 them into the handH3027 of NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894; and he shall slayH5221 them before your eyesH5869; 22And of them shall be taken upH3947 a curseH7045 by all the captivityH1546 of JudahH3063 which are in BabylonH894, sayingH559, YhwhH3068 makeH7760 thee like ZedekiahH6667 and like AhabH256, whom the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 roastedH7033 in the fireH784; 23Because they have committedH6213 villanyH5039 in IsraelH3478, and have committedH6213 adulteryH5003 with their neighbours’H7453 wivesH802, and have spokenH1696 lyingH8267 wordsH1697 in my nameH8034, which I have not commandedH6680 them; even I knowH3045, and am a witnessH5707, saithH5002 YhwhH3068.

24Thus shalt thou also speakH559 to ShemaiahH8098 the NehelamiteH5161, sayingH559,1 25Thus speakethH559 YhwhH3068 of ArmiesH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, sayingH559, Because thou hast sentH7971 lettersH5612 in thy nameH8034 unto all the peopleH5971 that are at JerusalemH3389, and to ZephaniahH6846 the sonH1121 of MaaseiahH4641 the priestH3548, and to all the priestsH3548, sayingH559, 26YhwhH3068 hath madeH5414 thee priestH3548 in the stead of JehoiadaH3077 the priestH3548, that ye should be officersH6496 in the houseH1004 of YhwhH3068, for every manH376 that is madH7696, and maketh himself a prophetH5012, that thou shouldest putH5414 him in prisonH4115, and in the stocksH6729. 27Now therefore why hast thou not reprovedH1605 JeremiahH3414 of AnathothH6069, which maketh himself a prophetH5012 to you? 28For therefore he sentH7971 unto us in BabylonH894, sayingH559, ThisH1931 captivity is longH752: buildH1129 ye housesH1004, and dwellH3427 in them; and plantH5193 gardensH1593, and eatH398 the fruitH6529 of them. 29And ZephaniahH6846 the priestH3548 readH7121 this letterH5612 in the earsH241 of JeremiahH3414 the prophetH5030.

30Then came the wordH1697 of YhwhH3068 unto JeremiahH3414, sayingH559, 31SendH7971 to all them of the captivityH1473, sayingH559, Thus saithH559 YhwhH3068 concerning ShemaiahH8098 the NehelamiteH5161; Because that ShemaiahH8098 hath prophesiedH5012 unto you, and I sentH7971 him not, and he caused you to trustH982 in a lieH8267: 32Therefore thus saithH559 YhwhH3068; Behold, I will punishH6485 ShemaiahH8098 the NehelamiteH5161, and his seedH2233: he shall not have a manH376 to dwellH3427 amongH8432 this peopleH5971; neither shall he beholdH7200 the goodH2896 that I will doH6213 for my peopleH5971, saithH5002 YhwhH3068; because he hath taughtH1696 rebellionH5627 against YhwhH3068.2
