Context of 2 Chronicles 29:4
2And he did that which was right in the sight of Yhwh, according to all that David his father had done. 3He in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of Yhwh, and repaired them. And he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them together into the east street, 5And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of Yhwh God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place. 6For our fathers have trespassed, and done that which was evil in the eyes of Yhwh our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of Yhwh, and turned their backs.

- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 3-4Hezekiah's first act as king was to repair the temple doors (2 Chronicles 29:3). The verb used (yekhazzeqem, “he made them strong”) is a pun on King Hezekiah's name (yekhizqiyyahu, “Yah makes strong”). This action set the stage for the king’s speech to the priests and Levites (2 Chronicles 29:5–11).Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 4-54-5. the east street--the court of the priests, which fronted the eastern gate of the temple. Assembling the priests and Levites there, he enjoined them to set about the immediate purification of the temple.
