Context of Psalms 55:11
9Confuse them, Lord, and frustrate their plans, for I see violence and conflict in the city. 10Its walls are patrolled day and night against invaders, but the real danger is wickedness within the city. Everything is falling apart; threats and cheating are rampant in the streets. 12It is not an enemy who taunts me— I could bear that. It is not my foes who so arrogantly insult me— I could have hidden from them. 13Instead, it is you—my equal, my companion and close friend.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 11Wickedness is in the midst thereof - That is, the wickedness connected with rebellion and revolt. Deceit and guile depart not from her streets - They are everywhere. They are found in every street and alley. They pervade all classes of the people. The word rendered “deceit” means rather “oppression.” This was connected with “guile,” or with “deceit.” That is, wrong would be everywhere committed, and the perpetration of those wrongs would be connected with…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 9-15Verses 9-15 No wickedness so distresses the believer, as that which he witnesses in those who profess to be of the church of God. Let us not be surprised at the corruptions and disorders of the church on earth, but long to see the New Jerusalem. He complains of one that had been very industrious against him. God often destroys the enemies of the church by dividing them. And an interest divided against itself cannot long stand. The true Christian must…Read the comment

He also experienced the psalmist’s prayer being answered: by taking the place of the wicked and receiving their punishment (Isaiah 53:7–9), and by trusting the Father, who saved (Luke 23:46) and rewarded him (Isaiah…Read the comment
