Context of Exodus 12:50
48“If there are foreigners living among you who want to celebrate the Lord’s Passover, let all their males be circumcised. Only then may they celebrate the Passover with you like any native-born Israelite. But no uncircumcised male may ever eat the Passover meal. 49This instruction applies to everyone, whether a native-born Israelite or a foreigner living among you.” So all the people of Israel followed all the Lord’s commands to Moses and Aaron. 51On that very day the Lord brought the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt like an army.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 43-51Verses 43-51 In times to come, all the congregation of Israel must keep the passover. All that share in God's mercies should join in thankful praises for them. The New Testament passover, the Lord's supper, ought not to be neglected by any. Strangers, if circumcised, might eat of the passover. Here is an early indication of favour to the gentiles. This taught the Jews that their being a nation favoured by God, entitled them to their privileges, not their…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 43-50These extra instructions for celebrating Passover mainly refer to outsiders and foreigners (12:43; 12:48). The presence of non-Israelite groups in the community might have led to these rules (12:38). The main point was whether the person was willing to fully join Israel and obey the Lord by being circumcised.Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 15-5115. Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread, &c.--This was to commemorate another circumstance in the departure of the Israelites, who were urged to leave so hurriedly that their dough was unleavened (Ex 12:39), and they had to eat unleavened cakes (De 16:3). The greatest care was always taken by the Jews to free their houses from leaven--the owner searching every corner of his dwelling with a lighted candle. A figurative allusion to this is made (1Co…Read the comment
