Context of Psalms 119:159
157Many are my persecutors and my enemies, Yet I do not turn from Your testimonies. 158I see the treacherous, and am disgusted, Because they do not keep Your word. Consider how I love Your precepts; Revive me, O Lord, according to Your lovingkindness. 160The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever. 161Princes persecute me without a cause, But my heart stands in awe of Your word.

It is similar to the appeal of Peter to the Saviour John 21:17, “Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee.” A man who truly loves God may make this appeal without impropriety. He may be so confident - so certain - that he has…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 153-160Verses 153-160 The closer we cleave to the word of God, both as our rule and as our stay, the more assurance we have of deliverance.
