- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 15So will I do unto thee - Others shall rejoice in thy downfall as thou hast rejoiced at their downfall. - Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 10-15Verses 10-15 When we see the vanity of the world in the disappointments, losses, and crosses, which others meet with, instead of showing ourselves greedy of worldly things, we should sit more loose to them. In the multitude of words, not one is unknown to God; not the most idle word; and the most daring is not above his rebuke. In the destruction of the enemies of the church, God designs his own glory; and we may be sure that he will not come short of his…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 13-15The Edomites wrongly thought that God's judgment on his people and his leaving the temple meant his covenant with Israel had ended. His choice of Israel and his gift of the land to them would not be taken back.Read the comment
