Context of Exodus 37:18
16He made of pure gold the utensils which were on the table: its dishes, its cups, its bowls, and its pitchers for pouring. 17He also made the lampstand of pure gold; of hammered work he made the lampstand. Its shaft, its branches, its bowls, its ornamental knobs, and its flowers were of the same piece. And six branches came out of its sides: three branches of the lampstand out of one side, and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side. 19There were three bowls made like almond blossoms on one branch, with an ornamental knob and a flower, and three bowls made like almond blossoms on the other branch, with an ornamental knob and a flower—and so for the six branches coming out of the lampstand. 20And on the lampstand itself were four bowls made like almond blossoms, each with its ornamental knob and flower.

- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 1-29It says that Bezalel made the ark of the covenant and all the furnishings, as well as the courtyard and its furnishings (37:1, 10, 17, 25; 38:1, 8, 9, 18). But this probably means he was in charge and guided the other craftsmen and seamstresses.Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 17-2217-22. he made the candlestick of pure gold--Practical readers will be apt to say, "Why do such works with the hammer, when they could have been cast so much easier--a process they were well acquainted with?" The only answer that can be given is, that it was done according to order. We have no doubt but there were reasons for so distinctive an order, something significant, which has not been revealed to us [Napier]. The whole of that sacred building was…Read the comment
