Context of Job 39:21
19“Do you give the horse its strength or clothe its neck with a flowing mane? 20Do you make it leap like a locust, striking terror with its proud snorting? It paws fiercely, rejoicing in its strength, and charges into the fray. 22It laughs at fear, afraid of nothing; it does not shy away from the sword. 23The quiver rattles against its side, along with the flashing spear and lance.

Virgil has seized this idea also, in his cavat tellurem; "he scoops out the ground." See before.Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 21He paweth in the valley - Margin, “or, His feet dig.” The marginal reading is more in accordance with the Hebrew. The same idea occurs in Virgil, as quoted above: caavatque Tellurem, et solido graviter solar ungula cornu. Also in Apollonius, L. iii. “Argonauticon:” ̔ ̓ ̓́̈́ ̔́, ̓́ ́ ͂ͅ ̓́ ́ ́.
