Context of Exodus 7:4
2You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his country. 3But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in Egypt, he will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and with mighty acts of judgment I will bring out my divisions, my people the Israelites. 5And the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it.” 6Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord commanded them.

Commentaries on Exodus 7:4
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 1-7In this final scene before the rescue begins, the Lord again answered the fear that Moses had about not speaking well. God allowed Moses to speak through Aaron (see 4:16). Even so, Pharaoh would still refuse to listen. The outcome did not depend on the ability of Moses to speak. It depended on God’s power. Moses and Aaron obeyed God’s command. They acted in faith and went forward as he directed. The first crisis had now passed (see study note on 5:22–23) .Read the comment
