Context of Exodus 7:4
2You are to speak all that I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his land. 3But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and though I will multiply My signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, Pharaoh will not listen to you. Then I will lay My hand on Egypt, and by mighty acts of judgment I will bring the divisions of My people the Israelites out of the land of Egypt. 5And the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD, when I stretch out My hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out from among them.” 6So Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD had commanded them.

Commentaries on Exodus 7:4
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 1-7In this final scene before the rescue begins, the Lord again answered the fear that Moses had about not speaking well. God allowed Moses to speak through Aaron (see 4:16). Even so, Pharaoh would still refuse to listen. The outcome did not depend on the ability of Moses to speak. It depended on God’s power. Moses and Aaron obeyed God’s command. They acted in faith and went forward as he directed. The first crisis had now passed (see study note on 5:22–23) .Read the comment
