Context of Song of Songs 7:11
9May your mouth be like the best wine, flowing smoothly for my beloved, gliding gently over our lips as we sleep together. 10I am my beloved’s, and he desires me! Come, my beloved, let us go to the countryside; let us spend the night in the villages. 12Let us rise early to go to the vineyards, to see if the vines have budded, to see if their blossoms have opened, if the pomegranates are in bloom – there I will give you my love. 13The mandrakes send out their fragrance; over our door is every delicacy, both new and old, which I have stored up for you, my lover.

Communion with Christ is what all that are made holy earnestly breathe after. And those who would converse with Christ, must go forth…Read the comment

- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 1111. field--the country. "The tender grape (Maurer translates, flowers) and vines" occurred before (So 2:13). But here she prepares for Him all kinds of fruit old and new; also, she anticipates, in going forth to seek them, communion with Him in "loves." "Early" implies immediate earnestness. "The villages" imply distance from Jerusalem. At Stephen's death the disciples were scattered from it through Judea and Samaria, preaching the word (Ac 8:4-25). Jesus…Read the comment
