Context of Song of Songs 7:11
9For me, your mouth has the taste of the best wine. May the wine pour out for my lover. May it pour over his lips and his teeth. 10I belong to my lover, and he wants to be with me! Come with me now, my lover! Let us go and walk through the fields. We can stay in the villages for the night. 12We can get up early in the morning and go to the vineyards. We can see if the vines have started to make new leaves. We can see if their flowers have opened. We can see if the pomegranate trees have flowers. When we are there I will give my love to you. 13The mandrake plants send out their sweet smell. At our door, there are many good things to eat. I have stored many good things that are both old and new. I have kept them all for you, my lover.

Here the bride wishes to accompany her spouse to the country, and spend a night at his country house.Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 10-13Verses 10-13 The church, the believing soul, triumphs in its relation to Christ, and interest in him. She humbly desires communion with him. Let us walk together, that I may receive counsel, instruction, and comfort from thee; and may make known my wants and my grievances to thee, with freedom, and without interruption. Communion with Christ is what all that are made holy earnestly breathe after. And those who would converse with Christ, must go forth…Read the comment

- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 1111. field--the country. "The tender grape (Maurer translates, flowers) and vines" occurred before (So 2:13). But here she prepares for Him all kinds of fruit old and new; also, she anticipates, in going forth to seek them, communion with Him in "loves." "Early" implies immediate earnestness. "The villages" imply distance from Jerusalem. At Stephen's death the disciples were scattered from it through Judea and Samaria, preaching the word (Ac 8:4-25). Jesus…Read the comment
