Context of Psalms 84:5
3Even the birds find a home there, and the swallow builds a nest, where she can protect her young near your altars, O Lord who rules over all, my king and my God. 4How blessed are those who live in your temple and praise you continually! (Selah) How blessed are those who find their strength in you, and long to travel the roads that lead to your temple! 6As they pass through the Baca Valley, he provides a spring for them. The rain even covers it with pools of water. 7They are sustained as they travel along; each one appears before God in Zion.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 5The man whose strength is in thee - "Who life and strength from thee derives; And by thee moves and in thee lives." In whose heart are the ways of them - This is no sense. The original, however, is obscure: בלבבם מסלות mesilloth bilebabam, "the high ways are in their hearts;" that is, the roads winding to thy temple. Perhaps there is a reference here to the high roads leading to the cities of refuge. We wish to escape from the hands and dominion of these…Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 5Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee - Not merely are they blessed who dwell there permanently, but the man also whose heart is there; who feels that his strength is in God alone who loves to go there when opportunity is afforded him, treading his way to Zion. The idea is, that all strength must come from God; that this Strength is to be obtained by waiting on him (compare the notes at Isaiah 40:31), and that, therefore, it is a privilege thus to…Read the comment
