Context of Psalms 21:9
7For the king trusts in the Lord, and because of the sovereign Lord’s faithfulness he is not upended. 8You prevail over all your enemies; your power is too great for those who hate you. You burn them up like a fiery furnace when you appear; the Lord angrily devours them; the fire consumes them. 10You destroy their offspring from the earth, their descendants from among the human race. 11Yes, they intend to do you harm; they dream up a scheme, but they do not succeed.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 9Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger - Thou shalt consume or destroy them, “as if” they “were” burned in a heated oven. Or, they shall burn, as if they were a flaming oven; that is, they would be wholly consumed. Those who might have had Christ to rule and save them, but rejected him and fought against him, shall find the remembrance of it a worm that dies not. God makes sinners willing by his grace, receives them to his favour, and delivers them from…Read the comment
