Context of Job 33:26
24and if God is gracious to him and says, ‘Spare him from going down to the place of corruption, I have found a ransom for him,’ 25then his flesh is restored like a youth’s; he returns to the days of his youthful vigor. He entreats God, and God delights in him, he sees God’s face with rejoicing, and God restores to him his righteousness. 27That person sings to others, saying: ‘I have sinned and falsified what is right, but I was not punished according to what I deserved. 28He redeemed my life from going down to the place of corruption, and my life sees the light!’

And he shall see his face with joy - The face of God. That is, he shall be able to look up to him with peace and comfort. - Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 19-28Verses 19-28 Job complained of his diseases, and judged by them that God was angry with him; his friends did so too: but Elihu shows that God often afflicts the body for good to the soul. This thought will be of great use for our getting good from sickness, in and by which God speaks to men. Pain is the fruit of sin; yet, by the grace of God, the pain of the body is often made a means of good to the soul. When afflictions have done their work, they shall…Read the comment
