Context of Ezekiel 43:3
1Then he brought me to the gate that faced toward the east. 2I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east; the sound was like that of rushing water; and the earth radiated his glory. It was like the vision I saw when he came to destroy the city, and the vision I saw by the Kebar River. I threw myself face down. 4The glory of the Lord came into the temple by way of the gate that faces east. 5Then a wind lifted me up and brought me to the inner court; I watched the glory of the Lord filling the temple.

- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 1-4The sacred spaces mentioned earlier were useless when empty (see Ezekiel 37:7–8). The temple needed the presence of the God of Israel's glory to be meaningful. This glory had left in Ezekiel 10. Now, it would return from the east, the same direction it had left. Unlike its slow and hesitant departure, its return would be sudden, with the loud roar of rushing waters (see Ezekiel 1:24; Revelation 1:15). As usual, the prophet fell face down in awe of this…Read the comment
