Context of Exodus 7:2
1So the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet. You are to speak everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh that he must release the Israelites from his land. 3But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and although I will multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt, 4Pharaoh will not listen to you. I will reach into Egypt and bring out my regiments, my people the Israelites, from the land of Egypt with great acts of judgment.

- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 1-7In this final scene before the rescue begins, the Lord again answered the fear that Moses had about not speaking well. God allowed Moses to speak through Aaron (see 4:16). Even so, Pharaoh would still refuse to listen. The outcome did not depend on the ability of Moses to speak. It depended on God’s power. Moses and Aaron obeyed God’s command. They acted in faith and went forward as he directed. The first crisis had now passed (see study note on 5:22–23) .Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 1-251. the Lord said unto Moses--He is here encouraged to wait again on the king--not, however, as formerly, in the attitude of a humble suppliant, but now armed with credentials as God's ambassador, and to make his demand in a tone and manner which no earthly monarch or court ever witnessed. I have made thee a god--"made," that is, set, appointed; "a god"; that is, he was to act in this business as God's representative, to act and speak in His name and to…Read the comment
