Context of Psalms 109:17
15Let their guilt and sin always remain on record in front of the Lord. Let the Lord remove every memory of him from the earth, 16because he did not remember to be kind. “He drove oppressed, needy, and brokenhearted people to their graves. He loved to put curses ⌞on others⌟, so he, too, was cursed. He did not like to bless ⌞others⌟, so he never received a blessing. 18He wore cursing as though it were clothing, so cursing entered his body like water and his bones like oil. 19Let cursing be his clothing, a belt he always wears.”

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 17As he loved cursing - As he loved to curse others; as he seemed to have a pleasure alike in the act of cursing and in the feeling which prompts to cursing, let him see what it is; let it come upon him in its fullness. He has chosen this as his portion; let it be his. This, in the original, is in the indicative mood, and not, as in our version, in the optative form: “He loved cursing, and it has come upon him; he did not delight in blessing, and it is…Read the comment
