Context of Numbers 10:30
28This was the order in which the Israelite armies broke camp when they went from place to place. 29Moses said to his brother-in-law Hobab, son of Reuel the Midianite, “We are going to the place the Lord promised to give us. Come with us. We will be good to you, because the Lord has promised good things to Israel.” Hobab answered, “No, I won’t go. I want to go back to my own country where my relatives are.” 31But Moses said, “Please don’t leave us. You know where we can set up camp in the desert, and you could be our guide. 32If you come with us, we will share with you all the good things the Lord gives us.”

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 30I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred - From the strong expostulations in Numbers 10:31; and Numbers 10:32, and from Judges 1:16; Judges 4:11, and 1 Samuel 15:6, it is likely that Hobab changed his mind; or that, if he did go back to Midian, he returned again to Israel, as the above scriptures show that his posterity dwelt among the Israelites in Canaan. - Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 29-32Verses 29-32 Moses invites his kindred to go to Canaan. Make thee two trumpets of silver--These trumpets were of a long form, in opposition to that of the Egyptian trumpets, with which the people were convened to the worship of Osiris and which were curved like rams' horns.
