Solomon was successful and all Israel obeyed him. 24All the leaders and soldiers and all of King David’s sons pledged their loyalty to King Solomon. The Lord made Solomon extremely powerful, as all Israel could see. The people of Israel gave him royal honor like no king of Israel before him ever had. 26David, son of Jesse, had ruled all Israel. 27He ruled as king of Israel for 40 years. - Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 20-25Verses 20-25 This great assembly joined with David in adoring God. Whoever is the mouth of the congregation, those only have the benefit who join him, not by bowing down the head, so much as by lifting up the soul. Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord. Solomon's kingdom typified the kingdom of the Messiah, whose throne is the throne of the Lord.Read the comment
