Context of Jeremiah 32:15
13I charged Baruch in their presence, saying, 14'Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Take these deeds, both this sealed deed of purchase and this open deed, and put them in an earthenware vessel, that they may last for a long time. For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Houses and fields and vineyards shall again be bought in this land.' 16"After I had given the deed of purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed to the Lord, saying: 17'Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.

- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 15Jeremiah explained why he made the purchase: He was investing in the future that God had promised. Someday, exiled survivors from the destruction of Judah would return, and the worthless land would become productive and valuable again. Jeremiah had already predicted that the exile would last for seventy years (Jeremiah 25:11–12; 29:10). Jeremiah's purchase showed his faith in the Lord's plan to restore his people.Read the comment
