Context of Psalms 68:14
12Kings with large armies quickly run away. Yes, they run away! The women at home share the valuable things that the armies have left behind. 13Even those who stayed to take care of the sheep found valuable things, like a dove with silver wings and bright gold feathers. When the Almighty God chased away foreign kings, it was like snow that fell on Mount Zalmon. 15Bashan mountain is great, like God. It has many high rocks. 16You high mountains, why are you jealous when you look at Zion mountain? That is the mountain where God has chosen to live. Yes, that is where the Lord will live for ever!

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 14When the Almighty scattered kings in it - The Hebrew here is, “In the scattering of (that is, by) the Almighty of kings.” The reference is to the act of God in causing kings to abandon their purposes of invasion, or to flee when their own countries were invaded. Compare Psalm 48:5-6. The language here is so general that it might be applied to any such acts in the history of the Hebrew people; to any wars of defense or offence which they waged. It may have…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 7-14Verses 7-14 Fresh mercies should put us in mind of former mercies. If God bring his people into a wilderness, he will be sure to go before them in it, and to bring them out of it. He provided for them, both in the wilderness and in Canaan. The daily manna seems here meant. And it looks to the spiritual provision for God's Israel. The Spirit of grace and the gospel of grace are the plentiful rain, with which God confirms his inheritance, and from which…Read the comment
