Context of Psalms 31:7
5I put my life into your hands. I know that you will save me, Lord, because you are a God that I can trust. 6I hate people who worship useless idols. As for me, I trust in the Lord. I am very happy because of your faithful love. You see when I suffer. You know when I am very upset. 8You have not put me under the power of my enemies. You have led me into an open place, where I can be safe. 9Lord, I am very upset, so please be kind to me. My eyes are tired because I weep so much. My whole body has become very weak.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 7Thou hast known my soul in adversities - When all forsook me; when none could help me; when I could not save my own life; when my enemies were sure that I could not escape; then I found thee to be my Friend and Supporter. When friend, so called, finds it convenient not to know his friend in affliction and poverty, then thou didst acknowledge me as thine own, all worthless as I was. Human friendships may fail; but the Friend of sinners never fails. Cicero…Read the comment
