Context of Psalms 25:5
3Surely nobody who trusts in you will become ashamed. But those who like to deceive others will become ashamed. 4Lord, help me to understand your ways. Teach me your good paths. Please be my guide and teach me your truth. I trust you every day, because you are the God who keeps me safe. 6Lord, please be kind to me and show me your faithful love. From long ago you have always been like that. 7Do not punish me for the sins that I did long ago. When I was young, I turned against you. Please be kind to me, because of your faithful love!

Commentaries on Psalms 25:5
- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 5On thee do I wait - This is the line in which ו vau, the sixth letter in the order of the alphabet, is lost; for the line begins with א aleph, אותך othecha, "on thee." But four of Kennicott's and De Rossi's MSS. have ואותך veothecha, "And upon thee." This restores the lost ו vau, which signifies "and." The Septuagint, Syriac, Vulgate, Arabic, Ethiopic, and Anglo-Saxon, preserve it.Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 5Lead me in thy truth - In the way which thou regardest as truth, or which thou seest to be true. Truth is eternal and unchanging. It is not that he makes it to be true, but that he sees it to be true. Such is the perfection of His nature that we have the utmost assurance that what God regards as…Read the comment
