Context of Psalms 15:1
Lord, who may stay with you, in your own home? Who may live there, on your holy hill? 2It is the person who does only things that are right. It is the person who lives in a completely good way, and who speaks only what he knows is true. 3He says nothing bad against other people. He does nothing that will hurt his friends, nor does he insult them.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 1Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? - The literal translation of this verse is, "Lord, who shall sojourn in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in the mountain of thy holiness?" Fwor the proper understanding of this question we must note the following particulars: - The tabernacle, which was a kind of moveable temple, was a type of the Church militant, or the state of the people of God in this world. Mount Zion, the holy mount, where the temple was…Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 1Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? - Margin, “sojourn.” The Hebrew word means properly to “sojourn;” that is, to abide in a place as a sojourner or stranger; not permanently, but only for a while. The idea in this place is taken from the word “tabernacle” or “tent,” with which one naturally associates the thought of sojourning, rather than that of a permanent abode. Compare Hebrews 11:9. It should not be inferred, however, that it is meant here that…Read the comment

We are encouraged to walk in that way. --Here is a very serious question concerning the character of a citizen of Zion. It is the happiness of glorified saints, that they dwell in the holy hill; they are at home there, they shall be for ever there. It concerns us to make it sure to ourselves that we have a place among them. A very plain and particular answer is here given. Those who desire to know…Read the comment
