Context of Psalms 109:9
7When they judge him, show that he is guilty. Show that even his prayers are a sin. 8Make his life very short! Let somebody else do the job which he did. May he soon die, so that his children have no father, and his wife has no husband. 10Cause his children to have no home, so that they go from place to place, and ask people to give them food. 11May the people who lent money to my enemy, take away everything that belonged to him. Let strangers take everything that he worked hard to get for himself.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 9Let his children be fatherless, etc. - It is said that Judas was a married man, against whom this verse, as well as the preceding is supposed to be spoken; and that it was to support them that he stole from the bag in which the property of the apostles was put, and of which he was the treasurer.Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 9Let his children be fatherless - Hebrew, “his sons.” This is what “always” occurs when a criminal who is a father is executed. It is one of the consequences of crime; and if the officer of justice does his duty, of course, the sons of such a man “must” be made fatherless. The prayer is, simply, that justice may be done, and all this is but an enumeration of what must follow from the proper execution of the laws. And his wife a widow - This implies no…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 6-20Verses 6-20 The Lord Jesus may speak here as a Judge, denouncing sentence on some of his enemies, to warn others. When men reject the salvation of Christ, even their prayers are numbered among their sins. See what hurries some to shameful deaths, and brings the families and estates of others to ruin; makes them and theirs despicable and hateful, and brings poverty, shame, and misery upon their posterity: it is sin, that mischievous, destructive thing. And…Read the comment

- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 9-109-10. Let his family share the punishment, his children be as wandering beggars to prowl in their desolate homes, a greedy and relentless creditor grasp his substance, his labor, or the fruit of it, enure to strangers and not his heirs, and his unprotected, fatherless children fall in want, so that his posterity shall utterly fail.Read the comment
