Context of Proverbs 7:20
18So come and join me for the night. We can lie in each other's arms. All night, we can enjoy as much sex as we like. 19My husband is not at home. He has gone away on a long journey. He took a big bag of money with him. He will not come back until later this month.’ 21With those sweet words she deceived the young man. She made him want to be with her. 22Suddenly he hurried to follow her! He went like an ox that men are leading to its death. He went like a deer that is running towards a trap.

In other words, He will return by the approaching festival.Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 6-27Verses 6-27 Here is an affecting example of the danger of youthful lusts. It is a history or a parable of the most instructive kind. Will any one dare to venture on temptations that lead to impurity, after Solomon has set before his eyes in so lively and plain a manner, the danger of even going near them?
