Context of Proverbs 25:4
2God hides things because he is great. But great kings can explain things. 3You can never know all the thoughts of a king. They go high above the sky and deep below the earth. If you remove dirt from silver, a worker can use it to make a beautiful thing. 5In the same way, you should keep wicked people away from the king. Then he will rule in a right way. 6When you stand in front of the king, do not be proud. Do not stand where the important people stand.

- 1 Peter 1:7The purpose of these troubles is to show whether you really trust God. When you believe in Jesus, that is more valuable even than gold. On the day when Jesus Christ returns and appears to everyone, God will praise you. He will say that you have done well. That will be great!
Commentaries on Proverbs 25:4
- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 4Take away the dross from the silver - You cannot have a pure silver vessel till you have purified the silver; and no nation can have a king a public blessing till the wicked - all bad counsellors, wicked and interested ministers, and sycophants - are banished from the court and cabinet. When the wise and good only are the king's ministers and advisers, then the throne will be established in righteousness, and his administration be a universal blessing.Read the comment
