Context of Micah 6:3
1Now listen to what the Lord says: ‘Stand up! Explain in front of the mountains what I want to say. Speak loud so that the hills can hear your voice. 2Listen, you mountains. Hear this, you strong places that have always been there deep in the earth. The Lord has a quarrel with Israel's people. Hear the reasons why the Lord is angry with you, his people.’ ‘My people, what bad thing have I done to you?’ God asks. ‘How have I made you tired of me? Answer me. 4I brought you out of Egypt. You were slaves in that country, but I made you free people. I sent Moses to lead you, and Aaron and Miriam with him. 5My people, please remember the bad things that King Balak of Moab tried to do. And remember what Balaam, Beor's son, answered him. Remember your journey from Shittim to Gilgal. Then you will remember that I, the Lord, do good things.’

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 3O my people, what have I done unto thee? - They are called to show why God should not pronounce sentence upon them. This condescension is truly astonishing! God appears to humble himself to his creatures. You have acted basely, treacherously, and ungratefully to me; this had already been proved by the prophets. What cause have I given you for such conduct? I have required a religious service from you; but have I wearied you by a fatiguing round of…Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 3O My people - This one tender word, twice repeated, contains in one a whole volume of reproof. It sets before the eyes God‘s choice of them of His free grace, and the whole history of His loving-kindness, if so they could be ashamed of their thanklessness and turn to Him. “Mine,” He says, “ye are by creation, by Providence, by great deliverances and by hourly love and guardianship, by gifts of nature, the world, and grace; such things have I done for…Read the comment
