Context of Mark 11:22
20The next morning, Jesus and his disciples passed the fig tree. They saw that it was completely dead. 21Peter remembered what Jesus had said. So he said to Jesus, ‘Teacher, look at that fig tree. You said that it should die, and it has died.’ So Jesus said to them, ‘You must believe in God. 23I tell you this: A person could say to this mountain, “Move and throw yourself into the sea.” Then it will happen like he says. But he must not let other ideas come into his mind. He must really believe that those things will happen. If he does believe it, God will do those things for him. 24So I tell you this. When you pray to ask God for anything, believe in him. Believe that you have received that thing. Then you will have whatever you have asked for.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 22Have faith in God - Ϛ is a mere Hebraism: have the faith of God, i.e. have strong faith, or the strongest faith, for thus the Hebrews expressed the superlative degree; so the mountains of God mean exceeding great mountains - the hail of God, exceeding great hail, etc.Read the comment

It may be applied to that mighty faith with which all true Christians are endued, and which does wonders in spiritual things. It justifies us, and so removes…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 22-23Truly I tell you: Jesus is emphasizing the importance of his words. this mountain: This probably refers to the Temple Mount, not the Mount of Olives. The judgment of the temple is the main focus in 11:12–25. Mark 12:9 will mention it again, and 13:1–37 describes it in detail. The reference to destroying the temple would later be raised at the trial (14:58) and crucifixion (15:29) of Jesus.Read the comment
